The LTM4616 is a complete dual 2-phase 8A per channel switch mode DC/DC power regulator system in a 15mm x 15mm surface mount LGA or BGA pack. SnPb (BGA) or RoHs-compliant terminal processing is available. Included in the package are switching controllers, power FETs, inductors and all supporting components.

Typical application

        

The LTM4616 has an input voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V and supports two output voltage ranges of 0.6V to 5V, each set by an external resistor. This efficient design provides up to 8A continuous current (10A peak) per output. According to ripple requirements, only a large number of input and output capacitors are required. The unit can also be configured for 2 phase single output up to 16A.

The low-profile package makes use of unused space on the back of the PC board for high density point load adjustment. The fault protection function includes overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection and thermal shutdown. Power modules are available in space-saving and heat-enhanced 15mm x 15mm x 2.82mm LGA and 15mm x 15mm x 3.42mm BGA packages.
