Date de Parution: 2022-08-10, Infineon Technologies

Infineon Technologies AG's OPTIGA™ Trust M security chip has become the first security platform to be CLS-Ready certified by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). As the number of IoT devices increases, so does the number of cyber-attack incidents. But the security issues of Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Things (IoTT) devices are often overlooked, and people often realize the seriousness of the problem after hackers have managed to compromise the device, but it is too late. In response to growing cybersecurity threats, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) launched the Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) in 2020.

The CLS rates consumer-grade IoT devices based on their ability to withstand cyber-attacks, in a total of four security levels. The label allows end users to clearly see the security level of the device and helps them easily identify high-security products without having to delve into various security terms and specifications.

The new CLS-Ready program makes it easier for manufacturers of smart products, especially small and medium-sized businesses, and manufacturers of products and systems not traditionally involved in cybersecurity, to meet the highest CLS 4 security level requirements by streamlining the certification process. In the CLS-Ready program, smart product manufacturers can take hardware components that have passed CLS 4 safety level testing, the CLS-Ready platform, and integrate them into commercial products. Therefore, any product built on the CLS-Ready platform can rely on the platform's existing certification system to achieve CLS 4 security level requirements.

As the first security platform to obtain CLS-Ready certification, Infineon OPTIGA™ Trust M security chip can help customers save a lot of testing costs and time, and reduce technical and operational risks. Because the platform's security features are powered by Infineon and tested by third-party security labs accredited by the CLS program, smart product manufacturers can gain greater security directly from the OPTIGA™ Trust M security chip, while No need to design everything from scratch yourself.

The global acceptance of the CLS program is also increasing due to the mutual recognition of the CLS program in different countries, which will allow more and more manufacturers around the world to gain access to CLS-Ready certified OPTIGA™ Trust M security chips. beneficial. For example, Finland launched its own cybersecurity labeling program around November 2021, and signed a mutual recognition agreement for cybersecurity labels with Singapore in 2021. This move has positive implications and will contribute to the further spread of the CLS program around the world.
