ABLIC S-82M1A, S-82N1A and S-82N1B battery protection ic provide longer battery life and higher security, and have ultra-low 990nA (maximum) current consumption during operation. These devices are specially designed for single core lithium ion and lithium polymer rechargeable batteries, and have the accuracy of overcharge detection voltage up to ± 15mV.

ABLIC S-82M1A battery protection IC uses external current to detect resistance to reduce the impact of temperature changes and provide high-precision overcurrent protection.

Battery Protection IC Connection Example 

                    

The S-82N1A features the external input of the CTL (charge and discharge control signal input) pin, which activates the charge and discharge control function and prohibits battery charging and discharging. The IC provides heat protection by connecting the PTC thermistor to the CTL pin to disable the charging and discharging battery pack at high temperatures.

S-82N1B is characterized by the external input of PS (power saving signal input) pin, which will activate the power saving function and prohibit battery discharge. At the same time, the protection IC itself inhibits the current consumption to the maximum value of 50nA. When the product is in storage and not in use, this function extends the time until the battery voltage drops to zero, protecting the product from deep discharge, which contributes to better safety.

All three devices provide a compact SNT-6A package, which is very suitable for applications with limited space.
