Ams Osram and Teknique accelerate deployment of advanced 2D/3D sensing and imaging systems

• ams Osram and Teknique demonstrated a complete 2D/3D vision system solution;

• The system is based on Ambarella SoC, integrating ams Osram's Seres camera board and Teknique's Oclea SoM and SDK;

• Accelerate time-to-market for industrial applications with advanced vision technology.

Ams Osram, a leading global provider of optical solutions, announced that it has partnered with Teknique, a leading provider of imaging technologies and machine vision solutions, combining ams Osram’s advanced sensor and transmitter components with Teknique’s SoM product range to help customers Bring 2D/3D camera systems to market quickly.

Ams Osram provides camera components and Teknique provides reference designs to help customers develop products for facial recognition authentication, machine vision, robotics or navigation/SLAM.

Ams Osram and Teknique are working together to provide manufacturers with advanced vision technology tailored to application needs, saving customers self-development and helping customers speed up time-to-market.

The two companies have teamed up to develop a complete reference design for active binocular and structured light systems. The demo system is based on Seres, a fully integrated infrared 2D/3D imaging camera board from ams, paired with an Oclea SoM and SDK (including the Ambarella SoC) to provide camera functionality including calibrated 3D depth maps.

Clemens Mueller, Senior Director of Application Marketing for the Industrial and Medical business line at ams Osram, said: “2D/3D imaging sensing technologies are increasingly used for security, access control and user identification functions in consumer electronics and industrial products. Machines The use of vision is no longer limited to traditional application scenarios. By partnering with Teknique to provide a complete development and integration service, ams Osram can support new customers and use product innovation to help them get to market faster.”

Aleks Ristic, General Manager of Teknique, said: "With over 15 years of experience, Teknique has successfully translated vision technology into innovative products around the world, providing practical solutions to complex problems. We are very excited to expand the Ambarella-based Oclea SoM computer vision Ecosystem, including advanced imaging components from ams and Osram, as well as highly integrated systems such as Seres camera circuit boards.”

The Seres camera circuit board features a variety of ams Osram components for lighting, image sensing and user detection, including:

• Belago 1.1 dot projector;

• OSLON Black 940nm LED floodlight;

• 2 MIRA130 infrared 1.38M pixel global shutter image sensors.

Also included is a dToF proximity sensor from ams and Osram.
