Analog Devices LT3094 500 mA ultra low noise negative linear regulator

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-11-01, Analog Devices Inc.

The LT3094 from Analog Devices is a high-performance, low drop out (LDO) negative linear regulator. These regulators have ultra-low noise and ultra-high PSRR architecture for power supply noise sensitive applications. They can easily be paralleled to further reduce noise, increase output current, and spread heat on the PCB. LT3094 has a stable minimum of 10 μ F Ceramic output capacitor. Built in protective devices include internal folding current limiting and thermal hysteresis current limiting. These supervisors provide MSOP and DFN packages. They are ideal regulators for noise sensitive applications found in RF, instrumentation and medical applications.

The LT3094 provides 500 mA at a typical 235 mV drop voltage. The operating quiescent current is nominally 2.35 mA and drops to 3 at shutdown μ A。 The device's wide output voltage range (0 V to - 19.5 V) error amplifier operates at unit gain and provides almost constant output noise, power supply rejection ratio (PSRR), bandwidth, and load regulation independent of the programmed output voltage.

Additional features include bipolar enable pins, programmable current limiting, fast start capability and programmable power, and good indication of output voltage regulation. These regulators include a tracking function to control the upstream power supply to maintain a constant voltage across the LT3094 to minimize power consumption and optimize PSRR.
