Broadband, high output current, fast settling operational amplifier

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2023-02-17, Analog Devices Inc.

The AD842 is a member of Analog Devices, Inc. 's wide-band operational amplifier family. The device was manufactured using the simulator junction isolation complementary bipolar (CB) process. It is very suitable for high frequency signal conditioning circuit and broadband active power filter. This process allows for a combination of DC accuracy and wideband AC performance that was not previously available in monolithic operational amplifiers.

Settling time test circuit (PDIP)

In addition to its 80 MHz gain bandwidth product, the AD842 also offers extremely fast stabilization characteristics, typically stabilizing to within 0.01% of the final value at 10 V step sizes of less than 100 ns. The AD842 also offers low static current of 13 mA, high output current drive capability (minimum 100 mA), low input voltage noise of 9 nV√Hz, and low input bias voltage (maximum 1.5 mV).

Line drive configuration (PDIP)

The AD842's 375v /µs conversion rate, along with a gain bandwidth product of 80mhz, ensures excellent performance for video and pulse amplification applications, and the device's extremely fast stabilization time makes the amplifier preferred for data acquisition applications requiring 12-bit accuracy, as well as for other applications such as high-speed DAC and ADC buffer amplifiers and other broadband circuits
