PCB Piezo has released two upgraded three-axis ICP accelerometers, models 354B04 and 354B05 are case isolated to ensure measurement quality in the presence of electrical noise and the sensor is ted IEEE 1451.4 enabling easy tracking and record keeping. It increases the frequency range, extending the upper limit to 10,000Hz at 5% deviation.

These models use a durable and sturdy titanium case that maintains electrical isolation even if the case is scratched or damaged in everyday use. This sealed enclosure is low outgassing designed for use in vacuum environments, including spacecraft testing. These models have an operating temperature range of -65F to +200F (-54C to +93C) and shock overload limits of ±5,000g/kg.

Bob Metz, director of the PCB Aerospace and Defense Division said: "Electronic noise is often encountered during electric vehicle vibration testing, and enclosure isolation helps ensure measurement fidelity," "Models 354B04 and 354B05 are also suitable for flying new eVTOL aircraft. and ground vibration testing, environmental stress screening (ESS), modal analysis and structural testing.”

The enclosure isolation design eliminates the need for unique isolation bases, coatings and insulating mounting screws. The through-hole mounting configuration allows these accelerometers to be rotated 360 degrees before tightening the screws, providing easy mounting. The built-in ICP microelectronics provide a low noise, low impedance output signal capable of transmitting cable lengths in excess of hundreds of feet. Any ICP signal conditioner or data acquisition system, including an ICP constant current power supply, can be used to power the accelerometer.
