Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2022-07-19, Advanced Linear Devices Inc.

Mouser now offers AMS OSRAM's AS7050 Medical and health sensor. The sensor provides design engineers with the next generation of biosignal conversion for a variety of applications, including smart devices; Heart rate, electrocardiogram and PPG monitoring; Optical sensor platform; Wearable devices and so on.

The company also stocks the AMS OSRAM evaluation kit for the device, which includes a motherboard and splitter board for complete flexibility. The splitter board includes a biosensor, accelerometer, temperature sensor and electrodes that can be reconnected to the motherboard via an FPC cable or external electrodes. The splitter can also be connected to the wrist strap via the Molex PicoBlade connector.

The AS7050 is a biosignal sensor analog front end that provides up to 8 LED driver outputs, samples up to 6 photodiode inputs, and supports external electrode arrangements for multiple LEDs and photodiodes in various applications method provides the highest flexibility. The analog front end provides two ADC channels for simultaneous measurement of PPG and ECG, and an automatic photodiode offset control.

The sensor operates from a supply voltage range of 1.7V to 1.98V, achieves maximum efficiency over the I²C bus, and features 1MHz Fast Mode+, 400kHz Fast Mode, and 100kHz Standard Mode.
