Micropower, low voltage (LDO) linear regulator

Technology Cover
Date de Parution: 2023-03-01, Linear Technology

The LT3060 series is a low-power, low-step-down (LDO) linear voltage regulator operating in the 1.6V to 45V input power range. The device provides an output current of 100mA with a typical step-down of 300mV. A single external capacitor provides programmable low noise reference performance and output soft start functionality. The LT3060 has a static current of only 40μA and provides a fast transient response with a minimum output capacitance of 2.2μF.

Typical application

Paralleling of Regulators for Higher Output Current

The LT3060 series is available in fixed output voltages of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, 5V and 15V, as well as adjustable voltage regulators ranging from 600mV to 44.5V. The LT3060 regulator comes in a heat-enhanced 8-lead TSOT-23 and 8-lead (2mm x 2mm x 0.75mm) DFN package.

When shut down, the static current is less than 1μA, the soft start reference capacitor reset. The LT3060 voltage regulator optimizes stability and transient response with a low ESR ceramic output capacitor. The regulator, like other regulators, does not require the addition of ESRs. Internal protection circuits include battery reverse protection, reverse output protection, reverse current protection, current limiting with folding, and thermal shutdown.
