By adding the USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2X2 option, Bulgin's product portfolio is more comprehensive, extending its Buccaneer family of robust connector solutions. The 4000 series connector features a USB-C 2x12 contact arrangement. They also offer a 100W power rating that meets the latest USB power delivery standards. They can support 20Gbps data rates (and 10Gbps for 2m cables) when using 1m long cables. These components are fully backward compatible with traditional USB2.0 implementations (of course, they only provide lower data transfer speeds in this case).

Their operating temperatures range from -40 ° C to +80 ° C, enabling them to cope with harsh applications. IP66, IP68 and IP69K protection demonstrate that they are resilient to liquid and dust intrusion and comply with EN60068-2-52 salt fog exposure, making them ideal for offshore deployment. In addition, the over-molding design enables these connectors to be used in situations where severe space constraints need to be handled. Connectors provide endurance for over 1000 mating cycles.

The USB-C connector housing is made of stainless steel and nickel plated. The contacts are formed from a copper alloy with a gold surface and display 40mOhm(maximum) contact resistance. An advanced field verification bayonet locking system ensures interconnection integrity. Braided cables are shielded by a sturdy PVC sheath.
