The Texas Instruments TPS7A13 300mA Ultra-Low Dropout Voltage Regulator is a small LDO with exceptional transient response. Typical application areas include camera modules, wireless headphones and earbuds, smart watches and fitness trackers, smartphones and tablets, portable medical devices and solid state drives.

The device can supply 300mA with good AC performance (load and line transient response). The input voltage range is from 0.7V to 2.2V and the output range is from 0.5V to 2.05V with very high 1% overload, line and temperature accuracy. It also features an active pull-down circuit that quickly discharges the output when disabled and provides a known start-up state. It is an ultra-small 0.71mm x 1mm, six-bump DSBGA package, making this device ideal for space-constrained applications.

The main power path is through the IN pin and can be connected to a power supply down to 50mV below the output voltage. All electrical characteristics, including excellent output voltage tolerance, transient response, and PSRR, specify input voltages greater than 100mV of output voltage with high practical efficiency. This regulator supports very low input voltages and uses a higher externally provided VBIAS rail for powering the LDO's internal circuitry. For example, the supply voltage at the IN pin might be the output of a high-efficiency DC-DC buck regulator, while the supply voltage at the BIAS pin might be a rechargeable battery.
